NEPSI predstavlja 15 industrijskih sektorjev, kar pomeni več kot 2 milijona zaposlenih v panogi, ki presega 250 milijard evrov.
NEPSI je kratica za European Network for Silica (Evropska mreža za kristalinični silicij), ki so jo dne 25. aprila 2006 ustanovili zaposleni in delodajalci evropskih sektorskih združenj s podpisom socialnega dialoga »Sporazum o zdravstveni zaščiti delavcev z dobrim ravnanjem in uporabo kristalnega kremena ter z izdelki, ki ga vsebujejo«.
